(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - Grand Ayatollah Hussein Mazaheri, Iranian jurisprudent expressed his condolences for martyrdom anniversary of Imam Ali (AS), the first Shia Imam and called his treaty to his then governor of Egypt as more comprehensive than the charter at UN.

He referred to religious and political teachings of Imam Ali (AS) in Nahjul Balagha and praised treaty of Malik al-Ashtar as a solution for the problems in Islamic systems.

He said, “According to some experts and politicians, Malik al-Ashtar treaty has proved to be more beneficial and practical than the UN charter, which has been convened by a group of politicians and international experts more than 14 centuries later than Imam Ali (AS).”

When Imam Ali (AS) appointed Malik al-Ashtar as the governor of Egypt in 658 CE, he wrote a letter to him giving recommendations on how to govern Egypt.

These recommendations have ever been counted as one of the most important political and law sources in Islam including Islamic constitution, a Muslim ruler, rights of the citizens and also relations between the government and citizens.
