Quds Day demos held in Istanbul, other Turkish cities |
(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - Crowds of people gathered in Istanbul on Friday to stand up for the rights of the oppressed Palestinians.
Quds Day demonstrations were also held in Ankara and other cities in Turkey.
The demonstrators carried placards and chanted anti-US and anti-Israel slogans.
Quds Day is the last Friday of the holy month of Ramadan.
In 1979, the late Imam Khomeini, the founder of the Islamic Republic of Iran, designated the last Friday of the lunar month of Ramadan as International Quds Day and advised Muslims across the world to commemorate the day by holding demonstrations and marches to express solidarity with the people of Palestine and their liberation struggle.
