(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - Tehran NAM meeting, held on August 26-31, has created a new atmosphere for the movement to influence international equations, spokesman for the Foreign Ministry said Tuesday.
Ramin Mehmanparast made the remarks while talking to domestic and foreign reporters during his weekly press briefing.
He said the member countries agreed that the 16th Non-Aligned Movement meeting in Tehran prepared a good ground for defending the rights of the independent states and achieving the movement's objectives.
He stressed that root cause of all international crises are expansionist policies of certain countries as well as implementation of their unreasonable plannings.
Mehmanparast reiterated that disarmament and establishment of a Middle East free from nuclear weapons are among major objectives of the Non-Aligned Movement.
On President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad's New York visit during which he is to attend the UN General Assembly, he said preparations have been made for the trip.
