|

Chairman of IRI System Interests Council Ayatollah Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani stressed Tuesday on the necessity of Islamic Ummah's unity against plots of the hegemonic system.
Addressing the inaugural ceremony of a conference on Islamic unity underway in Tehran, he reaffirmed that consensus among religious Alims and university professors would assuredly strengthen unity of the Islamic world.
The Islamic world with broad expanse and facilities could be the strongest part of human community, Rafsanjani said, but has been involved in internal differences and contrary to Quran's advices avoids being united.
In another part of his remarks, he described Quran as the main axis of Muslim unity.
The current differences of the Islamic world which have destroyed many facilities and opportunities of Muslims have been fanned by the hegemonic system, Ayatollah Hashemi continued.
A conference on Islamic unity started Tuesday in Tehran, Iran with the theme of sectarian diversity in the presence of intellectuals from 48 countries.
The conference aims to promote grounds of unity among Muslims and review the problems of the world of Islam.
