(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - Kashmiri leader Mirwaiz Umar Farooq has said that that it has become a habit of the anti-Islam and anti-Muslim forces to desecrate Qur'an and show disrespect to Holy Prophet Muhammad (P).
Expressing concern, Mirwaiz said that recently anti--Islam forces denigrated the Prophet Muhammad (P) in a film.
“It is a very sensitive issue. It has hurt the religious emotions of entire Muslim Ummah and enraged Muslims around the world,” Mirwaiz said in a statement.
Mirwaiz who also heads Muthaida Majlis-e-Ulema, said Muslims can never tolerate such a disrespect shown towards Prophet Muhammad (P) who brought light to the world.
Mirwaiz, who has been put under house detention since Thursday evening, said that it was highly unacceptable that somebody can hurt the religious sentiments and sensitivities of its followers under the guise of freedom of speech.
He said that countries around the world who advocate bonhomie and love between religion and people are attaining criminal silence over the issue, adding, it has only infuriated Muslims.
Mirwaiz said the immediate need of the hour was that the Muslim World and especially the OIC should convene an emergency meeting to reign in anti-Muslim forces from repeating any such sacrilegious acts in future.
Meanwhile, Jama'at-e-Islami Kashmir, while strongly condemning the blasphemous video depicting Prophet Muhammad (P) in poor light, has demanded stern action against the American film maker.
“If America is true in its claim of being against any kind of the religious blasphemy, then it should lose no time in taking stern action against these enemies of the humanity.
In the name of the freedom of speech, no one should be allowed to defame a historical personality considered to be the greatest even by those who do not even believe in his being the last Messenger of Allah (P). He is most beneficent to the humanity and has once again revived the true human sense at the time when humankind had lost all the human traits.
One who knows the history cannot deny this fact if he is not biased and mentally deranged person like the maker of this insulting film”, Advocate Zahid Ali, the Jamaat spokesperson said in a statement.
