(Ahlul Bayt News Agency) - General al-Freij's remarks came during an inspection tour to one of the combat formations.

He added that the Zionist enemy is the main enemy and the essential mission of the Armed Forces is to liberate the occupied Arab territories.

Al-Freij hailed the high morale of the Syrian soldiers in confronting the armed terrorist groups and their determination to eliminate them and destroy their hideouts.

He added that members of the Syrian Arab Army deserve the praise of the Syrian people who stand side by side with them to restore security and stability to the homeland.

General al-Freij noted that "Had the capabilities utilized by the sides of aggression to bring Syria down been employed to liberate the occupied Arab territories, they would have been enough."

He stressed that Syria's enemies are conspiring against Syria under US-Zionist leadership, and with funds provided by some Arab regimes serving Israel's interests in undermining Syria's steadfastness to pass their schemes in the region, since Syria is the only Arab state which strives to liberate Palestine and all the occupied Arab territories.
